Why we do what we do?
Due to Venezuelan communication censorship by the State, the massive shutdown of traditional media and the persecution of journalists, activists and anyone who wants to communicate what is happening in Venezuela
Twitter has become a source of information and a window of expression for citizens and digital activism through protest
In 2018 we noticed how what was happening on Twitter in Venezuela had an impact on the national public agenda by the different political actors in the country
our initial hypothesis was to know how much of the digital conversation was generated by real users or if there were fake or automated accounts trying to influence the dynamics within the platform
In 2019 we officially became ProBox Digital Observatory, monitoring the digital conversation, making visible and denouncing disinformation, initially in Venezuela
