We study the behavior of users on Twitter

ENDORSED BY STATISTICAL MODELS OF TWO OPEN SOURCE TOOLS (BOTOMETER AND TWEETBOTORNOT)

Our tool is directly connected to the Twitter interface (API) allowing us to download a significant percentage of the trends to be studied in greater detail: part of their content, behavior and the tweet that originated the trend, even if it has been deleted by the user.

How do we study the digital conversation in Venezuela?

We identify 5 main actors within the Venezuelan sociopolitical conversation on Twitter who promote the most relevant trending topics each month. For a more detailed analysis, we divided them into several subcategories:

  • Officialism
  • Opposition
  • Civil Society
  • Anonymous Networks
  • Others

It groups the tendencies linked to the regime of Nicolás Maduro. It is divided into 3 subcategories:

  • MIPPCI

MIPPCI. includes all the hashtags promoted directly from the Ministry of Communication and Information, being one of the main actors of the Officialism due to the large number of messages it generates daily

  • Government Entities

Government Entities. all the trends promoted from agencies and institutions of the Regime without including the MIPPCI.

  • Radical Officialism

Radical Officialism. hashtags promoted by political parties, public figures and other users identified with the Regime and the ideology promoted by Hugo Chávez.
